I am not from the inland north and never have lived there, but I do often have people ask me where I am from, even though I have lived in the northeast my entire life. I do see that the inland north and the northeast were very close.

That was fun! I just tried it. My accent is Philadelphia....close since I am from South Jersey. :)
hmmmm....this called me a midlander. I suppose that could be true. I have lived in so many places that I have affected an interesting way to speak...mostly "flat accent" but I have a y'all in there, and I drink pop!!!
