What Lord of the Rings Character Are You?

I found this quiz on another blog and thought it was fun.

"You are most like Elrond. Although you are very serious, you're not above having a good time. It's just that your definition of a good time is pretty different from other people's. You're very smart, so use your knowledge to help others! At least your not so pessimistic. People may think you're hard nosed, but all your friends know better. "

What Accent Are You?

I found this quiz over at Nature Knitter. I'm pretty sure I have taken this before, but I'm wasting time on the computer today and this sounded fun.

I am not from the inland north and never have lived there, but I do often have people ask me where I am from, even though I have lived in the northeast my entire life. I do see that the inland north and the northeast were very close.

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

Christmas Tag

I picked this off another blog with an "open" tag.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Both. I wrap the kids in paper as they like to "open" their gifts. I usually use bags for friends or woman relatives.

2. Real tree or artificial? Always real (so far)

3. When do you put up the tree? About two weeks before Christmas

4. When do you take the tree down? New Year's Day

5. Do you like eggnog? Yes, but diluted with some milk

6. Favorite gift received as a child? A slumber bag

7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, several. My favorite one this is the WillowTree one I bought on sale after last Christmas. It is on our hutch in the kitchen. We also have a few kid friendly ones that are down where the children can handle them.

8. Hardest person to buy for? My parents

9. Easiest person to buy for? Bessie

10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Can't think of a really bad one

11. Mail or email Christmas Cards? Snail mail

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Peanuts Christmas

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas ? Varies, usually sometime after Thanksgiving

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Nope

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Pumpkin pie

16. Clear lights or colored on the trees? We have always used white, but the kids have requested colored, so we may have either two trees next year, or go with colored lights

17. Favorite Christmas song? I love most Christmas songs. Of course traditional carols. I love TSO's Wizards in Winter and here are a few silly favorites, Grandma Got run over By a Reindeer, The Chipmunk Song and Santa Baby.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Stay home Christmas morning and then dinner and visit with Papa and Noona and other family in afternoon

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder, Blitzen and of course, Rudolph!

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Star

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas morning

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Everyone complaining about how much they have to do...mostly stuff that doesn't matter...presents, cooking. I know some people have real issues, business, valid obligations, but I don't like all the hype and commercialism.

23. What I love most about Christmas? Celebrating Jesus, discussing and talking about what it means that Jesus was born, being with family and friends and of course a fun present or two! :-)
I'm not going to tag anyone, but if you want to grab this and add it to your blog, consider yourself tagged!

Very Interesting?

My cyber friend Dorothy, uses words like Scrumdillyumptiousness, Decrepitude and Rumbledethumps, so I was not surprised to see her rating as genius.

Now what in world rates my blog at this level! It makes me think the level of intelligence (or at least literacy) in the world must be going way, way down!

What Does your Latte Say About You?

Okay, so I have way too much idle time today and should be doing something but I'm having way too much fun on the computer!

I saw this on Cynthia's blog today.

Some of what it says about me is true and some of it is way off, but fun anyway.

What Your Latte Says About You

You are very decadent in all aspects of your life. You never scale back, and you always live large.

You can be quite silly at times, but you know when to buckle down and be serious.

You have a good deal of energy, but you pace yourself. You never burn out too fast.

You're addicted to caffeine. There's no denying it.

You are a child at heart, and you don't ever miss the opportunity to do something playful.

You are deep and thoughtful, but you are never withdrawn.

I am nerdier than 50% of all people. Are you a nerd? Click here to find out!

So, how nerdy are you?
