Burn Pile

We have a very large pile of construction debris, from various house projects, in the back of our yard. When Brian cut up a very old, wooden boat and added it to the pile, it became more than I liked to look at everyday.

To whittle down the pile, Brian has been burning the wood as the weather permits. He built a large fire pit of cinder blocks and bricks and we are amazed at how quickly the pile is disappearing. The kids enjoy the fire each weekend and participate in the process. The boys especially seem to like to fiddle with the fire, throwing on pieces of wood and giving it an occasional poke.

As a bonus, it makes for great evenings sitting around the fire and roasting marshmallows.

When Dan would burn seed bags at the farm Jonathon and his cousins were right on that job. If we didn't get them all burned they would beg for the guys to wait until they could get back out from school.

Hee hee such a guy thing. My younger boys built little round fire pits and asked if they could burn some things. I said no much to their chagrin so then DH let them help burn a few things he's been needing to get rid of.
