Wintry Wednesday

Yesterday was our co-op day. To celebrate Valentine's Day we had a pot-luck lunch. Our co-op is held at our church and there are things like an air-hockey table, foozball, hoola-hoops, jump ropes, balls and all sort of other things. The kids played games and basically had a great time just hanging out together and we mom's had a wonderful time of fellowship.

We have had a lot of very yucky weather recently...snow, sleet, freecing rain, ice, rain, wind and frigid temps. Today was a rerun of last weeks storm, except we got more snow out of it before it turned to freezing rain and after as the rain turned back to snow.

This weather is making us all feel a bit of cabin fever. I am not one to keep the kids inside because of weather, but it is no fun being out in frigid, windy weather or when it is freezing rain, so the kids have not been out much the last week.

Today we were cooped up inside again. We cancelled Bessie's piano lesson due to the weather.

We had a pretty good school day. Rachel started on her new phonics book. Hannah is doing very well with her work. Bessie moves steadily along with all her subjects and Gabe worked quite a bit on his Tiger lapbook today. Dan plays along while we all work.

Legos are a huge hit in our house, everyone loves to play with them, from the youngest to the oldest. Gabe and Dan play almost daily. Dan was such a good boy today and I know it was because he was so engaged in what he was building. He is an excellent builder and you can just see the concentration on his face as he picks out pieces and puts them together.

Gabe has been working on a Tiger lapbook from Homeschool Share. This is a great site for unit studies and lapbooks. Today he put together this 3-D tiger puzzle that he got from the zoo.
