Last week left us with lots of ice and just a few inches of snow. Many people are just getting their power back or are still out.
This week, we got a nice snowstorm. The temperature was cold, so the snow came down light and fluffy and piled up quickly. A foot of snow fell overnight and we got a couple more inches later today as the snow continued to lightly fall.
Brian made quick work this morning of clearing the driveway and paths around the house. We have a lot of paths for all the people and animals in our home. It sort of looks like a fox and geese game, with paths out to the chicken coop, over to the woodpile and around the house to the birdfeeders.
We were able to make it to the library today and to get our Christmas tree. We are finding our new van much better in the snow than our old conversion van was.Every flat surface was piled high with the white stuff, turning our yard into a winter wonderland. We didn't get any sunshine today, so it was a bit gray, but pretty to look at none the less.
Our old house is all snuggled in now. Having a lot of snow helps to insulate the house.
If it has to be winter, I would rather have snow. The kids love it and it makes everything look so lovely. I'm thinking we will have a white Christmas this year.

Your house looks so warm and inviting nestled in snow.
I love the picture of your house, Debbie! I was thinking that this was your permanent home, but with Brian in the military maybe you move around. ???
Love the snow photos. I'll try to post some of ours tomorrow. It's snowing here today....
OH MY! That is a TON of snow! We have snow, but not that much!
