Today was a good day. The storm yesterday had cleared the air and although it was still quite hot, the air was so much less humid and there was a nice breeze. Everyone seemed to have more energy today.
Brian vacuumed the pool and puttered around the yard. The kids enjoyed some time outside. We caught up on laundry and I read some blogs.
After lunch we made a library run. This is always a favorite activity for everyone. Brian is going away again this week, so he likes to have a nice thick book to read.
Later in the afternoon we decided to hit a couple of geocaches. We haven't been caching in ages. We found two that were pretty close to each other. One of the spots was quite public, so we had to make sure we weren't seen. Brian stayed in the van with the Littles as they aren't quite the stealthy types yet. The cache was a micro, but we found it with little trouble.
The second cache was in a more out of the way spot, so we all trouped off to find it. With Bri in the lead with the GPSer we headed out. After getting twisted around a bit on the coordinates, Bessie found the large ammo box. They exchanged some items and I signed the logbook.
Geocaching is a fun, family friendly activity. If you haven't tried it, I would encourage you to give it a try. The only equipment needed is a GPS unit.

After we were done caching, we picked up Chinese food and headed home. Brian, Bess and Gabe enjoyed a dip in the pool after the Littles had gone to bed.

Thanks, De'Etta. Brian has been gone so much this summer...not long trips...6-8 days, but many times and this isn't suppose to be the busy season! Oh well, such is our life.
Bummer about the caches. Do you think they were there? We had one no-find that ended up being gone. Otherwise we have been very fortunate and have always been able to find them. We did have one multi that we didn't finish as it was getting dark. We are hoping to finish that one soon.
Glad you were able to get out and try a cache with the littles! We did another one just this weekend with our friends and their 2 little girls (1 and 3) and they had a good time.

What a fun outing. Definitely need better shoes, though. :) Sorry to hear Brian has been traveling a lot this summer. Is it more than usual? What is he doing?
