A Near Perfect Day

We have had the privilege of meeting some of my on-line friends live and in person. One of those special families are Felicity and Jon from Maine. They had two bio children, Randy and Fern and have recently brought home their little daughter Angeline from the Philippines. We all wanted to meet baby Angeline in person, so a date was set to travel to Maine.

Saturday turned out to be one of those special days that you couldn't really have planned any better if you tried.

We started out early and watch the sun brighten the sky. The drive up was smooth and easy. The kids were excited and took the trip well. We stopped for goodies at Dunkin' Donuts...yum! This was a special treat.

What a gorgeous sunrise. God is so awesome!

We reached our destination just after 11am. After hugs, hellos and a quick planning session, it was decided that we would head out to a beach that we all enjoyed. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. For October 5th, it was almost unbelievable. It was very warm and sunny.

We spent a glorious several hours on the beach. The kids played and played in and out of the water. We adults sat in chairs gabbing the afternoon away. We had not met Jon before, so it was nice getting to know him. The kids were amazing, no fussing, no fighting, just tons of good fun and fellowship. Jon played some beach soccer with them. Little Angeline just toddled along exploring the sand and watching what everyone was doing.

Gabe spent a tremendous amount of time in the water....brrr!

Brian
Dan and Fern...too cute!
Later in the afternoon, the clouds started to roll in and our day at the beach was coming to an end. I don't think any of us wanted to leave...the pleasure of the day was such a gift.

We made a short stop back at their house as we had brought some gifts for the kids. Bessie and I had made a little album for Angeline. We had a lot of fun working on it.

The "A" and "B" children

The ride home was a bit tougher as we ran into several downpour rain showers, but Brian did a great job driving. He had dinner at McDs and put the kids in their jams. After a few hours, they fell asleep and the ride was quiet.

This truly was a near perfect day!

How awesome that you were able to make this trip happen. And YES it was a warm Saturday - especially if the kids were in bathing suits AND the water in MAINE!!! Yikes! LOL What an adorable baby - I love her two little bottom teeth!!!!

Debbie - what a lovely day! Great pictures. I couldn't resist the dark haired little ones next to those red heads. So sweet!!

I bet those last moments of the drive, when all the kiddos were asleep, was just precious and extra sweet.
