Bessie wanted to try making fried dough at home. She had seen a friend make it and thought it was very easy. She was right. It was very easy and so yummy. I'm sure this will be added to our family treat list.
In Newfoundland, Canada, we called fried dough, toutons. They are delicious and we top them with either molasses or maple syrup. We have them almost every Saturday morning.
Yum! My mom made this all the time for us growing up. We called them "spider cakes" though since they were cooked in a "spider" (i.e. frying pan). For those looking for a recipe - it's just bread dough. ;-) At least that is what we always used.

Looks yummy and wonderfully fattening. :) What was your recipe?

What, no recipe?
That's a fun idea Bessie.
