Summer Clean Up Challenge

Lisa posted a Summer Clean Up Challenge on her blog yesterday. I wanted to do this challenge but was feeling pretty embarrassed about how messy some of the rooms in our house are, but maybe this will spur me on to clean up some of the messier areas.

Anyway, I've chosen our bedroom which is the catch all for the house. Right now we have way more stuff than will fit in the house. We are working on storage areas and also getting rid of stuff.

This will also tie in nicely with Cynthia's Scrapbook Challenge as my scrapbooking area is in our bedroom!

So...here it is in all it's messiness...our bedroom.

Did I mention that Gabe shares our room. That is his bed between the windows!

This is a little alcove that I've been using for my scrapbooking area. It also has my serger there. We are hoping to move things around so Gabe can use this little cubby for his area.

I'm glad you're joining me in the quest of a clean room! I spent last month working on my library and that's what started this. It is so nice to have ONE room that I can go into and feel relaxed. I just sit in there and pretend the rest of the house looks that way.LOL

I should have done my room.LOL Ours looks just about the same. We have Sophia sharing our room and it's a close fit. We have a crib, changing table, swing, two bookshelves, a huge bed, a dresser, a two drawer rubbermaid bin, and boxes leftover from the move.LOL Maybe I'll tackle that room next.lol

Deb, all you have to do to clean the clutter is move. Then everything is either in a box or in the trash. my room looks pretty good right now, give me a couple more years here and then we'll see if I can say the same thing. Sally

I'm SO glad I posted the mess in my scrapbooking room the other day. Now NO ONE should feel bad about posting their messes! We can all motivate and encouarge each other to work on one room at a time! Lisa, said my scrapbooking room would count for her clean up challenge as well... so I'm going to sign up, but really I think I should sign up with our music room since it's also a disaster... but not a danger zone like my scrapbooking room is (LOL)!

Do we have an "after picture" on the way? Are you working on this room or just thinking about working on it? Ha! I am notorious for planning to clean/de-clutter an area and never getting to it. It usually requires a visit by some company to light a fire under my lazy cleaning-up bottom. :)

Kathy, this is a challenge to yes, actually get some cleaning done. Lisa gave us until the end of the month and between the enormity of this clean up and that we will be gone part of the time camping, I will need all of that time.

Jump in and join the fun!

Good luck with that Debbie!

Where are you off to camping? Take lots of pictures, won't you? Oh, are you going to the Ocean? Don't forget to wave to me!

Dorothy, we are going to Maine and for sure I will give you a wave!

I hope to be blogging each day we are up there.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who is challenged to find private time with my dh! (He usually goes to sleep before my kids, lol.)

Yes, Gabe definitely needs the cubby space!

Good luck on your challenge! I'm working on the "book situation" at my house currently & then will be able to tackle my scrapbooking area. I really don't want to think about what else I could do after that! LOL

Sally's comment about moving is SO true! That seems the only way I can really get rid of clutter in my life (and convince dh to do the same since he doesn't want to lift it and move it either). I can't wait to see the "after" photo!
