The weather has turned a bit and it was cooler and cloudy today. I am hearing rumors of a big change by Friday. I am thankful that the weather has been as warm as it has.
We had a good morning. We did school. Bessie played some math games with Rachel and Hannah and kept Dan and Gabe occupied with picture book reading. Gabe read a book to me. His reading is really coming along nicely. Dan will only sit for a few books and we do lots of abbreviating of the text, but he enjoys the pictures.
After lunch we went to visit our friends that also have adopted children. The new baby is so cute. His eyes like to cross, which gives him quite a comical expression, but he is such a good natured baby and he loved watching all the other kids playing.
The kids played outside for awhile and Bessie and their daughter, who is home from college, went for a walk. It was nice for Bess to have some girl time. They played games after they came back.
Visiting this family is always a boost for me as they really understand where we are having three new children. She also challenges me to keep going and not to get discouraged.
We had a light dinner and a quiet evening. Gabe and I got in a few chapters of Pinnochio.
Brian called and things are going well. He is getting good sleep which is often difficult with the strange hours and 24 hour sunshine. He sounded really good.

It's so nice that you're able to hear from him while he's gone!
We really need to get back to school tomorrow! Maybe we'll start with some fun math games.
Sounds like a nice day. I'm glad you have nearby friends who can be a support and encouragment.
